Sometimes the fire is in the attic and the only way to find it is to pull the ceiling to locate the fire. Not all homes have attic access. To find the fire sometimes small holes have to be punched through the ceiling to locate the source.
With the use of thermal imaging cameras and training, the damage can be minimal if detected in time. The use of tarps while doing this also reduces the damage to the interior of the home and belongings.
