DENVER DRILL

This drill and prop was made due to a Denver Firefighter Mark Landvardt on September 28, 1992, being trapped due to a collapse. Landvardt was a 16 year veteran from the truck company 16 in Denver. Space inside was only 28 inches wide. With the window 42 inches above the floor.

Crews were rotated out but became exhausted and were unsuccessful. Doing drills like this makes us better prepared for these types of situations.

We were able to effectively get a down firefighter out in under two and a half to three minutes.

We have to learn from the past to move forward!
